Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Echo mobile application (“Echo,” “the app,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using Echo, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use Echo. By using the app, you confirm you meet this requirement.

Anonymous use & your responsibility

Echo lets you post and chat without revealing your real identity. You’re still responsible for everything posted or sent from your account. Anonymity is not a license to harass, threaten, or harm others — see Acceptable Use below.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Echo to:

• Post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, threatening, or sexually exploitative, including of minors.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
• Share another person’s private information without consent (“doxxing”).
• Spam, scam, or solicit other users, including for money, goods, or services.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or abuse the app’s matchmaking, moderation, or credit systems.
• Use the app if you’ve been previously banned or suspended, without our permission.

We use a combination of automated filtering and human moderation to enforce these rules. Violations may result in content removal, shadowbanning, suspension, or a permanent ban, at our discretion, with or without notice.

Reporting & moderation

You can report posts, comments, or users you believe violate these Terms. We review reports and may take action ranging from no action to a permanent ban. Moderation decisions are made at our discretion based on the information available to us.

Echo Credits

Echo Credits are a virtual currency usable only within the app to unlock features such as matchmaking, boosted or premium posts, and starting direct messages. Credits:

• Have no cash value and cannot be redeemed, exchanged, or transferred for real money.
• Can be earned for free by watching rewarded ads, or purchased via in-app purchase.
• Are non-refundable except as required by law or the applicable app store’s refund policy.
• May be adjusted, revoked, or forfeited if obtained through fraud, exploits, or a violation of these Terms.

Purchases are billed and refunded through the Apple App Store or Google Play, subject to their respective policies — we cannot directly process payments or refunds.

Subscriptions

Echo Platinum is an auto-renewing subscription offering bonus Echo Credits and reduced costs on certain actions. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled through your app store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Content ownership & license

You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content within the app as necessary to operate the service.

Termination

You may stop using Echo and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, or where required by law.

Disclaimers

Echo is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not vet the identity of users you match or chat with — exercise caution, do not share sensitive personal information with strangers, and report concerning behavior.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Echo and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including interactions with other users.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
